Dr Patterson is a regular speaker at international symposia on aesthetic medicine, and his specialist area of interest is the treatment of facial redness, flushing and blushing. Dr Patterson has pioneered the use of photorejuvenation (the Fotofacial) for the treatment of Rosacea as well as the combination treatments such as Palomar TriLux which combines fractional laser, infrared skin tightening and Intense Pulsed Light in one treatment session.

He is the medical director of Eden Aesthetics a company that distributes Palomar Medical Lasers and IPL devices, Dermagenesis microdermabrasion machines, Agera and Epionce skin care and Colorescience mineral makeup.
